So, some of you know that one of my main goals for this trip was to be somewhere where I could get angry because a monkey stole something of mine, ie, a shoe. I wanted to be able to yell "Hey! Monkey! Give back my ....! and have it taunt me and not give it back. I figured that maybe then my life would have some meaning. Well today I accomplished just that. Also my goal was to have a pet monkey, which I'll try for in the future, but I came close today. The monkeys stole my stick eventually, which was my only defence against them. I managed to get it back after a fight...ie, them jumping on my back. At one point I had 5 monkeys on my back...most of the time just one...and I couldn't get the monkey off my back. I also played a game called monkey on a stick where monkeys cling to your stick and you fling them off at other monkeys afteter spinning them around for a while. Also, a large group of them got angry at me and started all moving at me at once, so I defended myself by swinging a monkey on a stick at them, and eventually throwing a monkey at them. So yeah, lots of monkeys and I got to yell "Hey! Bad monkeys! give me back my...stick!" another check off the things to do before you die list.
I know more pictures of various things is expected of me, but lets be honest. Monkeys. Come on. Everyone likes monkeys.

Bonjour l'homme aux singes!!
Tiens, ton grand-père avait un singe quand il était jeune, il le portait toujours sur son épaule!!Le singe s'appelait coco.
Je crois que c'était le rêve de papi d'avoir un singe mais il n'avait pas pu le garder..;

the first picture of you and the monkey is a definite keeper. my expectation of your pictures has been filled, so from now on, if you want to post pictures of only monkeys, that'd be fine with me.

Monkey on a stick sounds like fun. Can i adapt that game into a canadian version like ugg on a stick? might be fun...whipping uggs at unsuspecting victims.

thanks for the gifts! the nose ring is killer. it reminds me of a rave, which is one thing I must do before i die. thank you for helping me fulfil that. My mom thanks you to. hahah

Juicy loves martha? hahah
ps - i stole the pin from mike. shh

Josee,
Je'ne savais pas que Papi avait un singe. Peut etre c'est quelque chose avec la famille alors. J'aurai bien aimer een garder un, meme qu'il a tire mes cheveux!

Casey,
Yes, monkey pictures are happening these days.
Monkey on a stick is a great game. Ugg un a stick...as in Ugg boots? That would be a great thing to thow off of a stick.
Glad you liked the nose ring. I'll try for better gifts next time. I was a little rushed as I was leaving bangkok the next day and the post office was closing.
Juicy most certainly loves Martha.
Alberta? Awesome. When, why and who with?

Shelley,
Yes, the scarf was for your birthday. Sorry I missed it. Glad you liked the monkeys as well. Someday I will own one and he will cause whatever mischief I tell him to. Miss you too!

Hey Just,
Can't wait to hear whats been happening since you left Laos. You gave your parents a real scare by being out of touch for so long. Was it because of the remoteness, (is that a word?)of the area or did it have anything to do with the floods? I've basically been laid off for a while so if you want to reach me by e-mail, I actually have my very own address at home now. It is shelleygerofsky@hotmail.com. Don't worry if you don't have time, I get most of the details from your mom anyways. Thats for you again Arlene.
Take good care.Love you to pieces
